Love is so sweet,it’s a feeling that every creature deserves. Even a three-day old baby has
knowledge about love. In the contrary hate is a bad attitude that one has towards the other.
Unlike love, hate cannot easily be detected hence not even a ten-year old kid can detect whether one hates him or not. These two words, even though they have same number of letters, they have exactly opposite meanings. These words are like the sides of a coin,it’s only a thin thread that separates them. From the latest research that was carried out by the Sekenani CKC students,it showed that the one that you can hate most is the one you love most.

Many have denied this but I believe it’s a fact. Let’s take a practical example; In politics there are these two men, Raila and Ruto. These two men were once great friends; they rallied together, ate together and even shared their top secrets but the irony is that at the moment the two are like a cat and a rat and none knows what is going to be used for their comparison in the next moment as I believe a hyena and a sheep won’t much their comparison. It’s therefore true that, even though these two words are worlds apart, they practise the so-called
TURN-TAKING, that’s immediately one stops ,the other starts and the list does not end even after once death, that LOVE-HATE battle continues and it carries on to the next generation.
It’s out of this that TRIBALISM comes to birth. So my biggest worry is, which one between love and hate should we stop because they seam to be great friends who never leave the other
behind?
“ Adapted by Paul the Octopus”

For the last two years, the government of Kenya have been tightening and strictly abolishing rules of deforestation especially in the main water towers and catchment areas in country which has put the life of wildlife animals and human being in big threats since there have been frequent occurrence of droughts living many in desperation after sweeping their flocks and plant to unbearable state.

After realization of these problem the government in-cooperation with international organizations forced eviction of resident out of the forest especially Mau Forest which is the main water catchment and water Tower serving East and Central Africa lakes and Rivers with their source draining from Mau Forest. through this, three million trees of different species have been planted at Olorkuto Side of the forest.

Mau Forest is the biggest forest in Kenya covering more than six district in Rift Valley but destruction have been done by burning charcoals, logging timber products for financial purposes making water scarce, animals dying in the lower parts like Mara after exposing the marine to the extreme sunlight after water level went down, the land bare, food prices are scratching the roof, temperatures are high, power is rationed… But every cloud has a silver lining:

Today after the government initiative, thing have become better as for today we are breathing fresh air because many new trees purifies the polluted environment, the vegetation is green; some thing which is rare at these months here where we normally receive short rain in December but for today throughout the year rain has been frequent which is abnormal, Our livestock have enough grass to feed also wildlife are easily found in the game hence a lot of attraction of tourist water is in plenty and all these has happen because of the little that has been done by government and the partners.

Fellow Kenyan, why not you dedicated to full time conservation for our own benefit?

The sekenani community knowledge center is offering reading materials to pupils of 5 primary schools at nearby Sekanani area.

The center intergrates IT learning with kenya curriculum for primary education.

The center has few reading & writing Books for lower primary pupils as from Age 4-12 years.

The inniative has been welcome greatly by all the Mara community and headteachers of All the Primary schools in mara. Thanks for Hital muraj and her friends for donating the books.

CKC Being a resource center for learning, the kids will have an opportunity to learn and acquire skills and knowledge regarding their carreers.

Not only being the only library within Mara Division offering this services and no fee, but also we provide coaching skills to the pupils. Pupils will have an opportunity to learn in a conducive environment outside their normal routine class work. By doing so the pupils will have a chance to share and exchange knowledge with the other IT students learning basic computer skills and thus improve on their class performance.

This is just a beginning.Currently we are using the same room with IT students but in the near future we wound like to expand and have a seperate room fully equiped with all relevant learning materials for the pupils to read and learn more thus gaining knowledge as the saying goes knowledge is power.

It is our appeal to all welwishers to support us with any relevant reading and writing materials or expansion of the room to accomodate more pupils. Any assistance accorded to us will highly be appreciated.
